The short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and tracks nothing. Below is exactly what happens with anything you choose to share.
No cookies, no tracking
What this site doesn't do.
hanrahan.cloud is a static website hosted in Ireland. It does not use cookies, local storage, analytics, advertising, or any third-party tracking. Nothing is stored on your device, and you are not profiled or followed across the web.
Contact form
If you message me.
The contact form on the home page collects your name, email address, and message. These are used for one purpose: to read and reply to your enquiry.
- How it's sent: the message is delivered by email through SMTP2GO, an email-delivery provider acting as a processor on my behalf.
- Who sees it: me. It is not sold, shared, or used for marketing.
- How long it's kept: only as long as needed to handle your enquiry, then deleted.
- Lawful basis: your consent in sending the message, and my legitimate interest in replying.
Server logs
Standard request logs.
Like almost all web servers, the server hosting this site may keep standard access logs — your IP address, browser user-agent, the time, and the page requested. These exist only to keep the site secure and reliable, are kept for a limited period, and are not combined with anything else to identify you. Lawful basis: legitimate interest.
Whoami page
The fingerprint demo stays in your browser.
The whoami page reads characteristics your browser already exposes and computes a fingerprint to show you how tracking works. This runs entirely in your browser — nothing it reads or calculates is stored, logged, or sent anywhere. The location demo only runs if you click the button and explicitly allow it, and the coordinates are shown to you and not retained.
Third parties
No third-party requests.
Fonts are self-hosted, so loading this site makes no requests to Google or any other third party. Links to external sites (such as GitHub or Volkcraft) are clearly outbound — once you follow them, those sites have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
What you can ask for.
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you
- Have it corrected or erased
- Restrict or object to its processing
- Receive a copy (data portability)
